How to Maintain a Functional Household

Photo of a Functional Family Anyone who is part of a household, aka family, knows
that it is not easy to tolerate everyone else's idio-
syncrasies. Following the 12 Household Rules listed
below will aid in establishing IP1 communication lines.

Communication is the key to success, and IPs need to
communicate their willingness to participate in these
simple guidelines. Without communication, families will
be dysfunctional and prone to failure.

Note: Studies indicate that these activities will
not cause brain damage.

Household Rules for IPs

  • If it talks, listen
  • If it's broken, fix it or replace it
  • If it scratches at the door, let it in or out
  • If you wear it, put it away
  • If you drop it, pick it up
  • If it's messy, straighten it up
  • If it's hurt, say you're sorry
  • If you use it up, fill it up
  • If it's empty, don't put it back in the fridge
  • If you open it, close it
  • If you eat from it, put it in the dishwasher
  • If it cries, hug it

Footnote: 1 Although anyone who uses a computer knows that IP stands
for Internet Protocol, in this case, it stands for Idiotic People.
